Located in the southern Caribbean province of Limon, Reef Runners has full access to Costa Rica’s only pristine coral reef ecosystem. 50 miles from the nearest city and largely unexplored, our barrier reef stretches from the town of Puerto Viejo to the Panamanian boarder and offers you more than 25 fixed dive locations ranging from shallow coral gardens to deep, fringing reefs and vertical walls dropping to over 130 feet! Your first dive is usually on a stretch of wall running for 1 mile, about 2 miles offshore.

With depths ranging from 30' to 130', the wall is perfect for all levels of divers, students can be kept at the top of the wall while expert divers explore the deeper areas! These sites are home to larger peleagics such as rays and sharks, as well as turtles in season. Also, if you love seahorses, ask about the 'Seahorse Wall', where you can find yellow, brown, white and green ones about 90% of the time. |

The second dive is a shallower dive, in the vicinity of 'The Holes', a region where the coral base began eroding yeas ago after an earthquake. What remains is plent of ledges, overhangs and swim-throughs.
A perfect area for photography, The Holes is 15-45', which means a long dive of an hour with amazing light penetration for taking pictures! Larger animals like eagle rays, turtles and nurse sharks can also be seen!
